Because we don’t outsource our services, we are able to support our customers and clients every step of the way, from designing the shade structure to its installation. We even offer lifetime maintenance for those who want to keep their new shade structure looking like it was just installed yesterday!

As soon as the Permit is issued we begin producing the steel or aluminum structure(s) and the fabric cover(s). It is preferable if everything is produced and prepared before we get to the Belle Glade based location.

While not every project will be done the same way, we generally try to follow the same approach each time for our customer’s convenience.

Initial Design Phase

We start every new shade structure project by having the customer speak with one of our professional project managers, to make sure that all of the customer’s wants and needs are met. These needs can include:

  • Ensuring the new shade structure is properly placed
  • Letting the customer know how visibly appealing the new structure will be and how much it would cost to achieve the customer’s desired project.
  • Making sure the new shade structure is technically feasible.
  • Designing for a long life and ease of maintenance.
  • Adhering to Regulatory Issues that may pop up (safety, permits, environmental, and site conflicts.)

Engineering Phase

We begin engineering for the site-specific design as soon as we get a signed purchase order or contract that reflects the agreed-upon design. We start every new structure project by following all national and international requirements, including the ASCE Structural Requirements and the Florida Building Code, in addition to any local codes and regulations.

Building Permit Phase

Once the engineering phase is over, Industrial Shadeports applies for a building permit from the relevant local authority, should one be required. We adapt our submittal package to the local regulations because, as a Florida Certified General Contractor (DBPR CGC#1525577), we are familiar with the majority of the jurisdictions and their requirements.

Manufacturing Phase

As soon as the Permit is issued we begin producing the steel or aluminum structure(s) and the fabric cover(s). It is preferable if everything is produced and prepared before we get to the Belle Glade based location.

Construction Phase

Our usual on-site timetable for single new shade structures will be as follows:

Monday: We get to the project location, give one final layout of where the new shade structure will be placed, excavate its footers, then place the columns/anchor bolts.

Tuesday:  The Building Department will do their inspections first thing in the morning, once that is done the concrete foundations will be poured in the afternoon.

Wednesday:  Give concrete a day to dry (unless it has already dried).

Thursday: Set the structure columns, roof structure, install the cover, and clean up the area.

Friday: Final Building Department inspections.
